THE SEQUENCE AND THE DIALOGICAL PAIR IN LETTERS WITTEN BY CÂMARA CASCUDO E MÁRIO DE ANDRADE
Interaction; dialogical sequence; intervention; question/answer pair.
The dissertation aimed to describe, analyze and interpret the materialization of interactional organizers - sequence and dialogical pair – in the exchange of personal letters. We emphasize the theoretical basis following the postulates of "Conversation Analysis", with reference to Marcuschi ([1986] 2003), Silva (2002), Briz (2006), Kerbrat-Orecchioni (2006) discussions, among others, concerning the notions of interaction, interactional rules and hierarchical model. We follow, also, the contributions of "Linguistics Textual" in Jean Michel Adam ([2008] 2011) and Silva (2012) works, to refer to dialogic sequences characteristics, in order to achieve the goals we defined. The methodology was guided by qualitative and inductive view, so we had an interpretative approach to analyze the data, following the perspective of textual – interactional studies. To achieve the main objective of this study, we analyzed a corpus consisting of 16 personal letters. These letters are part of a collection of letters written by Câmara Cascudo and Mário de Andrade - 1924 -1944. The results showed that in these texts the dialogical sequences and question/answer pair are established by means of interventions made by interactants, which are distant in time and place, similar to what occurs in a conversational text given that in personal letters is created a space of closeness and involvement.
