RESUMO:

This research presents an interdisciplinary convergence between the Textual Linguistics and Information Science, having as object of study the Thesaurus of the Electoral Justice (TEJ) divulged on the web. In general way, the thesaurus is constituted of normative criteria related to use (target audience) and purpose (social usage), and should be understood only by subject belonging the discursive community in which was developed. However, the TEJ is developed, updated and disseminated in the area of law, but can be accessed by different audiences with different interests. The questions that motivate this research are: a) how the TEJ divulged on the web is characterized while genre? b) How is the compositional structure of the TEJ? Front to the questionings, this research has as general objective, to accomplish a linguistic study of the TEJ available on the web, with the purpose of characterizing him as genre. As a specific goal, aims to develop and apply categories for analysis of the TEJ based on discursive/textual approaches related to studies on genres. The search is bibliographic-documentary nature and brings as theoretical approach to Textual Linguistics and related areas. The choice of the corpus was made through a bibliographical survey based on boolean logic search strategies on websites and databases in the area of law in Brazil. The TEJ was the corpus chosen by presenting the best indexes in relation to proposed aspects: update and structuring rules. As partial results, established the State of the art of the thesaurus, featuring: origin, definition, development, function, use, structure, terminology, relationships types, preparation; and the development of categories for the analysis of the TEJ as genre. In its relevance, the research seeks to contribute to the expansion of studies focused on the characterization of textual genres still little explored by Textual Linguistics, as the case of the thesaurus, which showed great potential and can be developed in different areas of knowledge and purpose, in addition to the Organization of Knowledge actions.
