Contemporary Portuguese Poetry: the past and the reconstruction of present: a study of the memory in the poetics of Luís Quintais.
Poetry; memory; trauma; Luís Quintais.
Author of a refined and highly reflective poetry, the poet Luis Quintais is now one of the most prominent names in the contemporary poetry scene. His poetry has a transdisciplinary nature, dialoguing with various fields of knowledge. Besides poet, Backyards is also an anthropologist, developing studies in this area at the University of Coimbra. His anthropological research involves mainly the issues of memory, trauma and war. This study aims, therefore, from the theoretical approaches of Halbwachs, Bosi and Seligmann-Silva, to make reflections on the relationship that memory, especially the traumatic memory, establishes with the creative process of this author, investigating, too, how your career as an anthropologist influences the production of the meaning of his poetry. The work in question also seeks to analyze the role of language in the reconstruction of the present and to tell the world, using as theoretical support for both Nancy, Foucault and Blanchot.
