Breast Feeding. Pregnant Women. Prenatal Care.
The research intends to describe the perception of pregnant women about the reasons that lead to the abandonment of exclusive breastfeeding in the first semester of the baby's life. This is an exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach carried out in the city of Tangará-RN with pregnant women enrolled in the seven municipal health units. The data will be collected between the months of February and March of 2019 after the favorable opinion of the Ethics and Research Committee and signing of the Term of Free and Informed Consent by all the participants. Research will be carried out on documents such as medical records, registration forms and nursing books, as well as the application of focus groups with the pregnant women in each Basic Family Health Unit. Gatti (2012) guides the use of focus groups with the purpose of discussing a research object with elements anchored in their personal experiences and different points of view allowing the apprehension of perceptions, ideas and feelings regarding the theme and the group interaction. For analysis of the data will be used the analysis of occurrence through the software IRAMUTEQ that analyzes qualitative information evaluating the frequency level of the words and allowing different types of use and presentations. The data will be discussed according to the relevant literature. It is hoped to contribute to the emergence of critical reflections that help to understand the importance of exclusive breastfeeding and to identify elements for a health education practice based on local reality.
