SUMMARY:

This dissertation project objectively evaluates the effectiveness of the Seridó Geopark Intermunicipal Public Consortium for the protection, valorization and popularization of natural and cultural heritage in the territory. In this direction, its specific objective is to: Present an overview of the Seridó Geopark and its performance in the territorial context; Describe the shared management model and strategic actions carried out by the Seridó Geopark Intermunicipal Public Consortium; identify the contributions of geoconservation, education and geotourism actions to the protection, valorization and popularization of natural and cultural heritage in the territory; Diagnose the managerial challenges faced in managing the Consortium; and Recommend actions to overcome detailed management challenges. To this end, exploratory-descriptive research, of a quantitative-qualitative nature, will be developed. It will adopt the case study as a research strategy and will use interviews and surveys as data collection techniques, with members of the consortium and members of the tourist trade, respectively. The collected data will be analyzed using the technique of discourse analysis and basic descriptive statistics, allowing the proposed objectives to be achieved.
