SUMMARY:

This dissertation focuses on the analysis and improvement of material management in the warehouse of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Employing a methodological approach that combines quantitative and qualitative methods, the research aims to understand material management processes. Data collection involves analyzing the Integrated System of Assets, Administration, and Contracts (SIPAC) of UFRN to gather detailed information about inventory and material movements. Additionally, an online questionnaire is distributed to warehouse managers in other federal universities in the region to comprehend inventory management practices in different institutions. The collected data undergo descriptive and statistical analyses, enabling the identification of improvements in material management. The research results, visually presented through graphs and tables, seek to contribute to the enhancement of material management at UFRN and serve as a reference for other academic institutions, promoting more efficient and effective resource management and positively influencing the effectiveness of inventory management in academic and institutional contexts.
