SUMMARY:

This paper aims to analyze the digital transformation that has been already carried out at the Federal University of Cariri (UFCA). We intend to achieve the following specific objectives: evaluating the digital transformation plan of UFCA and federal higher educational institutions of the state of Ceará (UFC, UNILAB and IFCE); identifying the status of the implementation of the digital transformation plan of the UFCA; identifying the implemented personal data protection mechanisms; developing a set of recommendations for the implementation of the actions proposed in the digital transformation plan of UFCA. This study is characterized as exploratory research, using a case study which will focus on the UFCA. A qualitative approach will be used for collecting data, analysis of documents, regulations, and legislation. For analyzing data, strategies for qualitative content analysis will be adopted to identify the actions for the digital transformation process at UFCA using current regulations, plans and
laws.
