SUMMARY:

This dissertation project aims to analyze the importance of the Accessibility Secretariat of the Federal University of Cariri (SEACE/UFCA) to promote equity of access to the teaching- learning process for deaf students or those with Hearing Deficiency (HD). To this end, the specific objectives are: to outline an overview of the inclusion of deaf students or those with HD at the University, to describe the guidelines for inclusion policies and the work of the Secretariat for Accessibility, as well as the actions undertaken by it, investigating the contributions of these actions for the access, permanence, participation and learning of deaf students or those with HD. Allowing, finally, to recommend actions to improve the performance of the Secretariat of Accessibility of UFCA for the promotion of equity of access to the teaching-learning process of deaf students or with HD. Thus, an exploratory-descriptive research of the normative, regulatory and instructional documents of the UFCA will be carried out, allowing a more complete and in-depth understanding of the phenomenon. The research also qualifies as qualitative, as it aims to represent the views and perspectives of deaf students and with HD, research subjects, it is also characterized as an applied research because it intends, after its analysis, to recommend actions to be developed for the improvement of the SEACE performance of access to the teaching-learning process of deaf students or with HD. Data collection will be carried out through documentary research, information from SEACE and interviews with students. The data collected from the interviews, in the categorized questions, the basic descriptive analysis technique will be used, in the open ones, the collective discourse analysis technique will be used, these data will allow, after being collected and analyzed, to achieve the objectives of this work.
