SUMMARY:

In the quest to meet the demand for enrollment of new students in High School, as well as acting in favor of improving indicators in education, in the 2000s, in the state of Ceará, there was the implementation of a significant number of policies and public actions aimed at the sector educational. The Classroom Teacher Project (PPDT) emerged in this period, more precisely in 2008, with the aim of combating major challenging concerns in High School: low proficiency in Portuguese and Mathematics, dropout rates and low school flow rates. It is in this context that this research aims to study and reflect on the monitoring work of the coordinator in the PPDT in two CREDE 19 schools, with the intention of verifying how the work carried out by the coordinator implies the process of implementing the PPDT. Thus, the specific objectives of this work are: (i) to analyze the work of the pedagogical coordinator in monitoring the PPDT, through participant observation and analysis of data and historical indicators of the two schools surveyed; (ii) draw a descriptive analysis of the two CREDE 19 schools, based on the application, recording and analysis of questionnaires and interviews to be carried out with coordinators and TD teachers; in order to (iii) understand and describe the implications of the Coordinator's performance for the implementation of this policy in schools. To achieve these objectives, the methodological procedures of a qualitative research are used here, with the application of questionnaires on the subject for the Class Director Teachers of the researched schools, as well as the use of interviews with the coordinators, responsible for monitoring the PPDT in these institutions. Thus, two school contexts will be analyzed, verifying if there are similarities and in what they differ, in order to understand the implications of pedagogical monitoring for the policy implementation process.
