SUMMARY:

The growing concern with the sustainability of the planet has mobilized organizations, bodies, specialists, among others, to encourage and adopt sustainable actions that go beyond the environmental aspect. This is the case of the public procurement segment, which has recently been seen as a strategic key sector for an organization to reduce waste, ensuring sustainable production and consumption standards, as provided for in international agreements on this topic. In this wake, the general objective of this work is to elaborate a framework of sustainable practices for the public acquisitions of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará-campus Juazeiro do Norte. To this end, it is necessary to use specific objectives, including mapping the sustainable procurement practices adopted by the IFCE/Campus Juazeiro do Norte, from 2019 to 2022, in line with the criteria of the National Guide for Sustainable Hiring (GNCS , 2022); highlight the recurrent challenges of sustainable practices during the stages that make up the bids for Campus Juazeiro do Norte; provide all the necessary practices, in a framework structure, that supports the adoption of sustainable actions in acquisitions and, finally, validate the framework. Thus, considering the research objectives and the construction of the intervention project, it was decided to use Design Science Research (DSR). In the initial results, the identification of the problem was verified, essential for the fulfillment of the first stage of the method, the awareness, considering that the Juazeiro do Norte campus is still unable to carry out sustainable practices and the intended artifact can help it in this context, which can promote a great environmental, social, institutional, cultural and economic impact.
