SUMMARY:

This dissertation project aims to evaluate the results of the Programa de Integração Ensino e Extensão (PEEX) [Integration Teaching and Extension Program] for the training of students of undergraduate courses at the Federal University of Cariri from 2015 to 2019. For this purpose, it has the following specific objectives: To present an overview of the working dynamics of the PEEX; Map PEEX projects, activities and participants; verify the level of integration between teaching and extension activities carried out within the disciplines of undergraduate courses through the Program; Identify the contributions of the PEEX for the development of skills and abilities of students, scholarship holders and project volunteers; Identify the challenges for the effectiveness of the Teaching and Extension Integration Program; and Propose actions to improve the effectiveness of the Program. These objectives will be developed based on a theoretical framework with an emphasis on evaluating the results of public policies from a multicentric, positive and constructive perspective. This is an exploratory-descriptive study that will adopt a quali-quantitative approach and will use the case study as a research strategy. To carry out this research, three main data collection techniques will be adopted: survey, interview and documentary research. Different research tools will be used for each technique, namely: structured questionnaire; semi-structured interview guide and form, respectively. The collected data will be analyzed according to their quantitative or qualitative nature through content analysis techniques and basic descriptive statistical analysis. After collecting and interpreting the results, especially in identifying the challenges faced, it will be possible, in the light of the literature, to propose actions to improve the effectiveness of the Program, emphasizing the empirical relevance of this proposal, considering that it will allow bringing data and information that will be able to gather elements for university management to rethink its policy, make the necessary adjustments, if so diagnosed in the survey, so that said policy can be improved and achieve success.
