SUMMARY:

This research work aims to evaluate the economic effects of the operationalization of the Food Acquisition Program (PAA) executed by Conab, focusing on the impact of federal public spending, with regard to purchases of products offered in the region, on the growth of gdp per capita of municipalities benefited from the states of the Northeast region in the period 2009 to 2020. To this end, it will be necessary to quantify the volume of budgetary resources executed by Conab in the PAA from 2009 to 2020 in all states of the Northeast region, to collect historical data (2009 to 2020) of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita of the States of the Northeast, to verify if there is any correlation of these variables, whether the budget execution of the PAA by Conab was sufficient to impact the per capita GDP of the states of the region and which superintendences conab regions located in the Northeast region achieved the best results. The conclusion of this research may support Conab's senior management in making decisions about the best application of resources in the PAA. If there is no correlation of the variables analyzed or neutral or negative correlation, one can try to analyze the reason for these numbers and, thus, seek better results.
