SUMMARY:

Telework, a flexible work modality, emerged - as it is known today - a few decades ago, enabling workers to carry out their activities away from the employer's premises, with the help of ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies). As a labor regime option in a process of increasing dissemination in several countries and also in Brazil, it had a strong acceleration of its dissemination due to the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, decreed by the WHO (World Health Organization) in early 2020, and the imposition of measures to prevent contagion, one of the main ones being social distancing. The objective of the present research is to analyze the perception of the managers of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN) about the experience in the telework regime, adopted due to the Covid-19 pandemic, challenges experienced and perspectives in view of the permanent implementation of this modality. The research, of an applied nature, is classified as descriptive and exploratory, constituting a case study. Electronic questionnaires will be applied to the population of the institute's managers, with simple probabilistic sampling, and interviews will be carried out, with intentional sampling, thus fitting into the quali-quantitative approach. In line with the defined approach, the analysis of the data collected will be through descriptive statistics and content analysis. As a result of the research, it is expected to contribute to the discussion of the topic, serving as a theoretical and empirical support for future consultations, in addition to assisting in the process of permanent implementation of the modality in the IFRN.
