SUMMARY:

The National Policy for Personal Development of the Federal Public Administration emerged in 2006 with the objective of contributing to personal professional development from the competency model to the formulation of its training plans. The main objective of this research is to understand the teacher-manager's perception of training and its implications for the development of managerial competences. The theoretical framework addresses the evolution of People Management and Skills Management in the Brazilian Public Sector, as well as the role and challenges of the teacher-manager at the Federal Institute of Higher Education in the context of management activities and the GPC. This is a qualitative-quantitative research, exploratory and descriptive. After data collection, the focus group method will be used, whose sessions will be audio recorded, transcribed and their reports will be analyzed based on the content analysis technique supported by the Atlas.ti software. To increase the representativeness, a second stage of data collection will be carried out through a questionnaire applied to the professors-managers of UFRN with the objective of evaluating the degrees of agreement and influence of the training in the development of managerial competences. The data collected through the questionnaire will be consolidated using descriptive statistics.
