SUMMARY:

Considering the transformations that permeate public administration in Brazil, and given the need to provide a quality public service and at the same time provide a favorable environment for work and retention of servers, it is necessary to study the predictors of turnover and of working conditions in the public service. Turnorver is understood to mean the end of the bond between the worker and an organization. When the dismissal is voluntary, that is, part of the worker's initiative, it is necessary to investigate the factors that cause it, so that the appropriate measures are taken to avoid the consequences of an unwanted turnover. Working conditions encompass a set of circumstances under which work activities are carried out, considering the work itself and its surroundings. Therefore, investigating the perception of workers about working conditions can point out dysfunctions in the work environment, which contribute to the emergence of other organizational problems, such as the intention of turnover and effective turnover. Therefore, the present study has the general objective of analyzing the relationships between turnover and working conditions at the Federal University of Cariri - UFCA. To this end, documental research will be carried out, with the purpose of building a Rotation Panel at UFCA, based on data on dismissals and admissions from the period 2017 to 2021, and semistructured interviews with former servants, based on questions based on the taxonomy of working conditions developed by Borges et al. (2021), in order to investigate whether working conditions at UFCA contributed to the decision to leave the institution. Still thinking about avoiding future voluntary dismissals, the research will also verify, through the application of a questionnaire, if the intention of turnover the servers in exercise is related to the working conditions at UFCA. For this, the Turnorver Intention Scale (Siqueira et. al. 2014) and the Working Conditions Questionnaire (Borges et al., 2021) will be used. The research participants will be current and former employees, professors and administrative technicians, of UFCA. Finally, based on the data collected, improvement actions will be proposed for the management of turnover and working conditions in the researched institution. It is, therefore, a descriptive research, qualitative and quantitative. It is expected, with the results of the research, to identify the perception of the servers about the working conditions and its relation with the turnover in the UFCA.
