SUMMARY:

The objective of this study is to understand the development of environmental sustainability practices at the Federal University of Cariri (UFCA) from the perspective of the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking criteria. It is a case study with a mixed approach, of an applied and descriptive nature. The research will be carried out at UFCA, Juazeiro do Norte-Ceará. The study sample will be composed of 04 employees of the university's sustainability management coordination team (SMC), 06 academic units and 08 administrative units of UFCA. Data collection will be divided into three stages: focus group with the SMC team, descriptive analysis of official documents on UFCA sustainability and application of the questionnaire UI GreenMetric World University Ranking. From the results that will be obtained, it is expected to describe the actions related to the environmental management of UFCA to guide the identification of the strengths and weaknesses in the adopted sustainable management strategies, thus obtaining subsidies to propose suggestions for improvements to current practices and encourage official participation from UFCA on UI GreenMetric.
