SUMMARY:

Public management has evolved over time, pressured by the context of an increasingly questioning, globalized, complex and interdependent world. In this context, state entities acquire competitiveness, improve the quality of services provided and expectations for results, in addition to increasing productivity in administrative services, the possibility of making services more flexible, creativity and improving the performance of servers, in order to meet the needs and bringing citizen-clients closer to the public administration. The work seeks to demonstrate the need to implement the possible elements of strategic management in the Municipality of Caicó, systematically implementing innovative projects, monitoring and analyzing their impacts and consequently carrying out the municipal strategic planning, in order to promote quality in the provision of services, offer greater internal capabilities and achieve organizational results. Municipal planning must indicate flexible mechanisms of action in a network, to integrate and coordinate all administrative services and those available to society. Within this integration, seek technological innovation tools, such as the integrated management system, aiming at optimizing and supporting strategic actions and supporting strategic planning. The methodology of this research is characterized, essentially, as a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study. As for the result, we will seek to verify the feasibility of implementing strategic management, through its strategic planning and the use of an integrated management system.
