SUMMARY:

The Training, Development and Education (TD&E) process has become an emerging theme in the organizational context. In the public context, where society's demands increasingly demand better and better delivery of quality goods and services to the population, the Brazilian public administration -with an emphasis on IFES -also sees itself in this process and faces the need for civil servants each increasingly qualified and prepared for their activities. For this,it is observed that the actions must go beyond the technical functions, directed to the management, in order to ensure the professional development in the construction of an institution of excellence, reinforcing the responsibility of the public managers for this construction. In view of this, there is a need to know the managerial skills to promote learning environments and encourage the new, in order to materialize effective and consistent results. However, it is known that traditional TD&E practices no longer fully meet expectations for managerial development. In view of this, the questioning of “what” should be learned changes its focus, also aiming to understand “how” the individual learns. Thus, learning modalities can be an alternative to understand the forms of learning learned by managers. This project seeks to analyze the influence of learning modalities for the development of managerial skills, in the perception of managers at UFCA. This is a descriptive study, a qualitative and quantitativeapproach, with the application of semi-structured questionnaires to UFCA's managing servers. It is hoped that these data will unfold in analyzes capable of capturing the managerial profile of the IFES studied in its competences and learning modalities, as well as directing efforts to the learning of the managers who make up UFCA.
