SUMMARY:

The modernization of public management arises from the concerns of society. The needs for effective social control and diligence with the compliance and standardization of administrative procedures to foster a posture of transparency, integrity and ethics assumed by the State give rise to the opportune context for the application of compliance. Although it appeared in the private environment, this tool has been applied in Brazilian public management through the implementation of the Integrity Programs established by the Federal Government. Based on the importance of public procurement as an instrument to enable the provision of services, the acquisition of materials and the execution of works in order to reach the interests of society, and considering that the values of efficiency and effectiveness of the hiring processes reflect the quality of expenses This was the approach chosen for the study of compliance application. As an autonomous entity, the Federal University of Cariri - UFCA, organized its integrity plan and determined the lines of action to be worked on, but did not elaborate actions directly focused on public contracts. In view of this situation, the following question emerges: What is the application of compliance in the administrative practices of public contracts at the Federal University of Cariri? Thus, this work aims to analyze the application of this tool in the administrative practices of UFCA's public contracts. For this purpose, a descriptive-exploratory research, predominantly qualitative, will be used, which will use documentary analysis, but with the use of quantitative collection techniques (questionnaires and interviews) to collect primary data. The method chosen will be field research. For data treatment, content analysis techniques, descriptive statistics and the Exploratory Data Analysis (AED) method will be adopted.
