SUMMARY:

Introduction: The Multiprofessional Residency Programs in Mental Health (PRMSM) as interfaces of the anti-asylum struggle are strategic in training for psychosocial care in the Health Unic System. Objective: mental health training in Brazil was analyzed based on Multiprofessional Residency Programs in Mental Health. Methods: qualitative and quantitative research was carried out in four phases: documentary study of seventeen Pedagogical Projects of PRMSM in Brazil; exploratory study through interviews with seventeen PRMSM coordinators; evaluability study with 22 experts through validation of a criteria matrix through the Delphi Consensus; and, sectional study with 275 residents using a questionnaire sent to residents (2018 to 2022). Results: theoretical essay: analysis of mental health training in the context of Brazilian psychiatric counter-reform, between 2016 and 2022, a period of serious setback in the National Mental Health Policy, producing tensions with psychosocial care; documentary study: the theoretical support of PRMSM signals a greater occurrence of psychopathology, problematizing the risk of reproducing the medicalizing psychiatric paradigm, the need to strengthen mental health in primary care from a territorial perspective, dialoguing with intersectionalities and, taking into account the complexity psychosocial care requires transdisciplinary care for its production; interviews: Neoliberal rationality has contributed to the advancement of entrepreneurship in health, producing changes in the profile of residents, the scientific epistemicide produced in the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform produced invisibilities regarding the colonial and racist perspective in the production of madness as a pathology of freedom, the residence oxygenates the services of the Psychosocial Care Network, and the debate on mental health in the territory is an element addressed, however, the insertion of residents in primary care is still incipient, related to the defunding of the NASF at federal level; evaluability study: the 1st round of Matrix validation was carried out with 32 Criteria, of which 24 were validated and 24 criteria were included for the 2nd Validation Round; sectional study: it will be carried out using a questionnaire produced by validating the Criteria Matrix, being sent to residents from 2018 to 2022, of the 17 PRMSM included in the study. Final Considerations: training by PRMSM is crossed by neoliberalism and the dismantling of health policies, despite this context, residences produce oxygenation in the services of the Psychosocial Care Network and aim to expand debates on the decolonial perspective of madness and territorial care, revealing that the insertion of PRMSM is still incipient in primary care, relating to the defunding of Family Health Support Centers.
