SUMMARY:

The regulation practices of body, gender and desire produce historical inequalities to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transvestite and Transgender (LGBT) population, which materialize in various forms of violence in institutional spaces in Health, Education and Social Care public services. The inclusion of LGBT people demands in public services depends on the knowledge of their workers on this subject, which highlights the need to include this theme in professional training. In this sense, the research aims to analyze the insertion of the themes of gender identity and sexuality in Health Education. The cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach, had as scenario the public Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte and State University of Rio Grande do Norte. The campi studied were: Natal, Santa Cruz, Mossoró, Caicó and Pau dos Ferros. A structured questionnaire, validated by the Delphi consensus technique and pre-test with a pilot sample, served as the basis for data collection. The toll consisted of three modalities: 1) sociodemographic characterization; 2) LGBT health training, and 3) LGBT health conceptions. The survey sampling criterion was the census. Graduating students from the Nursing, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Medicine, Nutrition, Odontology and Public Health courses participated in the collection in 2019, resulting in 420 participants. A descriptive and bivariate analysis was performed, comparing training variables with LGBT health topics using the chi-square test in SPSS 20.0 software. The partial results suggest the visibility of some central themes, such as differentiation between biological sex and gender identity and social name. On the other hand, a low proportion of students who accessed content related to the LGBT National Integral Health Policy and the gender affirmation process. Considering the number of topics on LGBT health, participation in social movements and the course on LGBT / PNSI-LGBT health, the results are the following: the better courses were Nursing and Medicine, in turn, the worst were Odontology, Physiotherapy and Public Health. The results have statistical significance (p <0.05). The next steps will be to perform Poisson regression and correspondence analysis, to: 1) identifying the contributions of student characteristics with the opportunity to access LGBT health topics; 2) measure the impact of training on students' conceptions; and 3) create profiles of vocational health education, based on content on gender identity and sexual orientation.
