RESUMO:

With the creation of the Unique Health System (SUS), the Professional Training in Health is now understood with an organizational part of the System. With the National Curricular Guidelines for Health (DCN), changes in knowledge production begin, and Pedagogical
Projects (PP) undergo restructuring processes. A challenge present in the undergraduate courses in the health area refers to the essential elements for the student's training aiming at their insertion in the SUS. The objective of the study was to analyze professional training and its
insertion in SUS; construct and validate an evaluation tool; to evaluate the importance of essential curricular contents aimed at SUS training in the student perspective. This is an evaluation study, developed in the period of 2018 at the Health Sciences Center (CCS) of the
Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), in Natal / RN, in which forty criteria were validated by the Delphic Consensus , considering the dimensions "Epidemiology", "Social and Human Sciences" and "Policy, Planning and Management". A quantitative, transversal,
exploratory study with a case study was approached. Developed in the CCS of UFRN, in Natal/RN, from February to March 2019. The analysis occurred through the SPSS 20.0 program.
The Brazilian political scenario, crossed by austerity policies that challenge the consolidation of SUS, should serve as a stimulus for the formation of professionals aligned with collective
interests, which strengthen the teaching-service-community integration. The feminization of health appears as a highlight, where the offered disciplines were partially contributed to the
training, with the majority of students with pretension to work in the System, emphasizing the role of HEI in the structuring of this. In the formative contents, emphasis was placed on the importance of insertion into SUS, with emphasis on Dimensions, Subdimensions and most of
the Criteria, with a caveat to the application of collective health contents. As a contribution, the study brings the use of evaluation and self-evaluation mechanisms applied by HEIs, as a way of restructuring their PP and Curricula, reinforcing the role of interaction with the service and
the effectiveness of professional reorientation experiences, reaffirming the principles and guidelines of SUS.
