RESUMO:

The monitoring working conditions and the health-disease process of workers, aims to minimize the damages, diseases and accidents of work. Soon, the work place accident, considered precursor of harmful factors to health, was also considered a cost, by almost 9% of pay roll and 60% of the benefits paid by the Brazilian social security. This study aims to estimate the prevalence of accidents at work in the Brazilian population (≥ 18 years) and know their associated factors, considering the data of the National Health Survey (NHS), 2013. At first, it was performed a systematic review of literature based on the PRISMA Protocol, in order to identify the impact of multimorbidity on workers’ health. After there vision, was developed a cross-sectional study from data NHS, 2013, with 60,202 people over 18 years. The survey questions about the involvement in a work accident in the last 12 months. We conduct analysis of the prevalence of work-related accidents in relation to socioeconomic characteristics and health conditions, in particular the association with multimorbidity, of the population studied; bivariate analysis with obtaining the Prevalence ratio (PR), confidence intervals at a level of 95% (CI 95%); and multivariate model using the Poisson regression, with Wald test for robust estimation for significant variables in the analysis. The prevalence of accidents at work in the last 12 months was (2.79%, 95% CI: 2.79%-3.08%) and was associated with the male, the age of 25-39 especially with primary, secondary schooling, illiteracy and have multimorbidity. We have reinforced the need for more research in the field of health with a view to the development of more effective methods as for the complexity of care, but also strength surveillance of workers.
