SUMMARY:

Migrations can be motivated by people's desire to realize their life projects, including the need to acquire new knowledge and experiences. In this sense, as the study migrations appear as a growing movement, although Brazil is still presented when compared to other countries. The advances that occur in the direction of internationalization of Higher Education Institutions in Brazil are predominantly passive actions, sending documents, students and researchers abroad. But there are public policies for the promotion of study studies in Brazil, where we receive immigrants in our universities, mainly due to the activities of agreements that favor the exchange of students, such as the Programa de EstudantesConvênio de Graduação (PEC-G). This paper aims to make a descriptive analysis of the microdata for the Censo da Educação Superior, conducted by the Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira (INEP) and using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program to analyze a database. An analysis will present the sociodemographic profile of foreign students who migrated to study in Brazil, observing an insertion of these students in Brazilian higher education. The study will consider a timeframe from 2010 to 2018. This work is still a comparison of the internationalization of Brazilian higher education with Chinese, as both countries are part of a group of countries with potential economic economies called BRICS and China has been prominent on the world stage, the number of immigrants in its universities has increased. This type of migratory movement receives further investigation, as the internationalization of education is a way of favoring public diplomacy and strengthening Brazil's image abroad.
