SUMMARY:

Throughout history, we have followed transformations in the
urban space of large Brazilian cities, largely due to the various historical processes and
specific factors that occur in the urban fabric, such as industrialization, the population
density that intensified the urbanization process, the sociability of urban spaces causing
several socioeconomic problems, including violence and crime. The main objective of
this work will be to analyze the changes and social manifestations typical of large cities,
which over the years have been modifying the Manauara territory based on the
understanding of intentional murder, one of the main problems affecting the intra-urban
spaces of metropolises Brazilian companies. This study intends to answer why, in a
period and place, the homicide rates may present events related to the stability, growth
or resurgence of such crimes? In turn, the study will analyze the phenomenon from the
point of view of urbanization and homicide patterns that configure the capital Manaus
for the period 2012 to 2020. The research will be descriptive-exploratory and analysis
on an intra-urban scale. For the period in question, the data will be observed in a
longitudinal perspective for the understanding of homicides and theoretical matrices that
will be put for analysis, which will seek to demonstrate how intentional homicide events
and their rates, their conditions are related in time and space, in addition to evaluating
the effects of these on each other, even if from a historical-social perspective. The
transformations that took place in the capital of Amazonas will be observed and how
these are associated with homicide rates. These transformations will be analyzed in the
macro-social aspect, associating the homicide movement with economic, social and
political issues that may be directly or indirectly linked to these crimes, and from the
perspective of macro-social issues that may be associated in different parts of the city
that comprise, such as economic, infrastructural, demographic and social, or others that
prove to be significant for understanding the phenomenon. The idea is to articulate the
two levels (macro/global and micro/local) so that they can explain homicides through
universal and timeless theories for the understanding of research questions, on urban
crime theories, on social changes capable of explaining what happens in the city.
