SUMMARY:

This study delves into the discursive analysis of Bolsonarist rhetoric, scrutinizing the discrepancies between the foundational principles employed in the 2018 campaign and their repercussions on the surge of political violence in Brazil. The research corpus encompasses statements issued by presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro, tracing their impact among Bolsonarism adherents from the onset of the 2018 presidential campaign to the culmination of the 2022 presidential race. The analytical framework is firmly anchored in French Discourse Analysis, underpinned by the tenets of historical materialism and structuralism, affording a robust lens for the investigation. Adopting a qualitative approach, the study employs primarily bibliographic and documentary research methods to dissect Jair Bolsonaro's discursive expressions and their societal implications. Anticipated outcomes of this research encompass an elucidation of how Bolsonarist discourse has exacerbated animosity and political aggression, ultimately culminating in the tragic demise of Marcelo Arruda. Additionally, the study endeavors to furnish a profound comprehension of the discursive dynamics within the Brazilian political terrain.
