SUMMARY:

The construction industry is responsible for a consumption of 20 to 50% existing natural resources on the planet, and a way to mitigate the growing exploration of deposits for the extraction of natural aggregates and expanding the use of waste, are the studies of the application of these in paving works with a view to the reincorporation of waste in the civil construction chain. Based on this context, The present work aims to technically analyze the application potential of the construction and demolition waste (RCD) as a possibility for reuse efficient in base and sub-base layers of pavements, through analysis comparative study between mixtures of gravel-soil and soil-RCD, based on tests of resilience (MR) in view of the guidelines of the new method of dimensioning of flexible floors of the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT). O mechanical performance of RCD in mixtures with soil evaluated by the MR and the permanent deformation is still little analyzed according to revisions made in the available literature and with the implementation of the new sizing method, these parameters are fundamental. In addition, the RCD object of this research has regionalized characteristics, as usually occurs in each city. For the realization of the work, repeated load triaxial tests were performed to determine the MR of mixtures of Solo-Brita and Solo-RCD in various proportions. Based on the data obtained in these tests the dimensioning of a pavement structure was carried out using the MeDiNa software to verify that the use of soil mixtures with the aggregates of RCD would provide base and sub-base structural layers with performance comparable to that of soil-gravel, whose use is already normalized by some road bodies. The results obtained through the dimensioning using the MeDiNa software proved the possibility of using the Solo-RCD mixture in the proportions 70-30, respectively, in base and sub-base layers of properly. Based on the magnitude of the MR, the potential for employment was ratified of the mixture of soil with these regional construction residues, in proportions specific, in a pavement structure, which drives conservation actions and maintenance of natural resources through the use of RCD in local paving.
