SUMMARY:

This work seeks to analyze the construction of literary spaces in the interior of Sergipe from the first three literary works written by Francisco José Costa Dantas, respectively Coivara da memoria (1991), Os desvalidos (1993) and Cartilha do silêncio (1997). To this end, I will analyze how Francisco Dantas articulates his autobiographical memories in the production of the literary work, mobilizing the concepts of memory and recording, as well as those of writing himself and experience. I will also examine the uses of the past and memory in the construction of space in these productions, having as a basic work the biographical book of the historian Ibarê Dantas (brother of our author), about the Dantas family. In this way, I will problematize the issues of social tensions that are evident in the literary production of this author, based on the perspective of experience "from below". And I will try to understand how the author makes use of the topic of regionalism in his literature, analyzing the Northeast as a construction. Thus, the time frame of this work corresponds to the launch of the first three works analyzed. Therefore, this research will deal with a literary space permeated by memories and experiences built by Francisco José Costa Dantas. Based on these and other elements, the weight of memories in our author's literary production became evidente, as well as the social tensions and trajectories of his oneiric characters for the construction of this literary space.
