SUMMARY:

The present work seeks to analyze the Norwegian Black Metal scene, having a temporal cut that permeates the 1990s until the mid 2010s, which became a spatiality responsible for many of the influencing pillars of this subgenre of Heavy Metal. Initially marked by the artistic production based on satanism, misanthropy and death, ends at certain moment finding in nature and uses of past a new exploratory lyrical and imagery bias, resulting in a series of discourses that evoke nostalgia and topophilia to criticism of so-called modern world through nazifascist elements and reproduced in some media formats such as records, magazines, k7 tapes and fanzines. Such work started from the assumption this scene in the studied period is configured – being one of the most influential among the varied heavy metal music and culture subgenres – in a space that incorporates symbolic and material readings, as a justification for certain views and contradictions of its actors.
