SUMMARY:

Studies on vocational training provide a general description of methodologies, processes and practices aimed at building competences in various areas of technical qualifications, with a view to developing the aptitudes, knowledge, skills, attitudes and ethical values needed to perform a profession, as established by the National Qualifications System (SNQ). Quality vocational training aims for an active life through various forms of education, strengthening careers and creating opportunities for growth in society and the world of work for all individuals. In relation to education, the topic of Inclusion has recently come to the fore as a social and pedagogical movement that seeks to guarantee access to school, the right to quality education, based on efficient models with specialized human resources, specific teaching methodologies and innovative materials so that students with specific educational needs can participate, ignite and contribute actively in society. Tourism stands out among the social benefits, and due to its complexity of segments and professionals, it currently requires an improved level of excellence with a focus on sustainability and universal accessibility, considering the competitiveness of the sector. In this sense, the challenge is to boost the attractiveness of tourist destinations with infrastructure and, above all, with human resources capable of meeting the needs of all markets with competence and technical knowledge, since these are the most important asset of the service sector. In view of the above, it is understood that inclusive education in tourism is necessary in order to minimize professional restrictions, ensuring training based on specific technical and social skills and thus guaranteeing that people with disabilities can fully participate in tourism activities without constraints and live memorable experiences. The general aim of this research is to analyze the professional training and competencies for inclusive education of Tour Guides in a unit of the Federal Education, Science and Technology Network. The research universe is the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Maranhão (IFMA), in four campuses that offer the technical course in Tourist Guide in the state, including members of the Committees for the Development of Pedagogical Projects for this training. The methodological approach of this qualitative research will be based on bibliographical studies, documentary research and primary data collection, whose analytical procedures will be guided by the content analysis method, as well as the process of data triangulation. It is believed that information will be found on the curriculum guidelines and teaching methodologies in the pedagogical projects of the Tourist Guide courses, which will make it possible to verify whether the professional training and competencies offered in the courses meet the requirements of inclusive education and the needs of the world of work in Accessible Tourism.
