SUMMARY:

As man continues to rapidly expand his dominion over nature, natural resources are in decline, making today's society look for more sustainable alternatives to protect the planet and keep it habitable. Macroalgae and microalgae are autotrophic, photosynthetic organisms and the main producers of the food chain and today are gaining prominence in the medicine, cosmetics, fuel, feed, food, among others. The present study aimed to develop a product called blend using the combination of seaweed Gracilaria birdiae with the microalgae Spirulina maxima produced through cultivation. For this purpose, the centesimal composition and analyzes of metals in G. birdiae were initially carried out, the production of an alternative culture medium for the microalgae S. maxima and the evaluation of its potential as a cultivation yield. Verify FTIR the occurrence of different types of chemical functions present and the development of a related cosmetic blend. With the results of the T test in the centesimal composition in G. birdiae, it obtained significant values and in the analysis of metals the values of Ca+2 and Mg+2, Ba, Cd, Pb, Co, Cr and Ni are within the tolerance allowed by Brazilian legislation, while the values of K+ and Na+ are above the allowed, favoring their use as biofertilizers. With the development of alternative cultivation, it achieved a relevant evolution for the growth of microalgae and for the centesimal values with significant values with the T test. With the FTIR analysis, it obtained confirmation of the agarana band, characteristic of macroalgae, and in the microbiological analyzes in product was free of contamination by E. coli and Coliforms and Yeasts and Molds. In conclusion, it is possible to state that it reached its objective of alternative cultivation of Spirulina maxima with a reduction in cost and making it more sustainable with the use of Gracilaria birdiae. Just as the blend presented itself as a promising sustainable source of carbohydrate compounds with potential application in the food and cosmetic industries.
