The Brazilian semiarid has a great potential for biomass production, mainly originating from the microalgae that are photosynthetic microorganisms, eukaryotes or prokaryotes. Beings become strategic for ecological and economic potential. The objective of the culture is: microalgasociability be concentrated and separated from the culture medium. Flocculation is a method of omitting the charge neutralization cell of an agent. The most used flocculants are composed of aluminum and iron salts, since they are non-toxic, non-biodegradable substances. Alternatively they can be used in natural plant-based flocculants. Another important aspect is the knowledge about the potential of microalgae in semi-arid regions. In the municipality of Apodi, the IFRN offers training courses on Biofuels and has the opportunity to train professionals who, in addition, present the widely disseminated energy practices, visualize the new modalities for the semiarid energy sector. In order to improve performance, the flocculation of the microalga Scenedemus sp. under the influence of the variables: concentration, flocculant type, pH variation, as well as the knowledge of IFRN students at the Apodi / RN campus on microalgae and its focus on the energy sector. For this, a microalga of the species Scenedesmus sp. was cultivated in ways not at the Aquaculture Technology Center, located in the municipality of Extremoz / RN. For the flocculation assays, a solution and Moringa oleifera powder and Cereus jamacaru powder were used. For the knowledge of knowledge of IFRN on microalgae were the semi-structured questionnaire questions for 86 students. With regard to flocculation, from the analysis of the data, a solution of moringa and the extracts of moringa and mandacarina high efficiency in flocculation were made. The solutions were completed for a non-moringa solution, achieving 98 % efficiency at a concentration of 0.2 g/L. The highest efficiencies for all motions were at basic pH. Also observe the factors of pH, concentration and type of flocculant interfered in the process. In relation to students' knowledge, previous knowledge about the subject was reached in 44 %. This content was best practices for the main matter of the best products and matrices which are such as microalgae are generated, beyond biodiesel.
