SUMMARY:

With a high worldwide incidence, Covid-19 caused by the coronavirus, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2, is a disease transmitted mainly by the respiratory route, and has symptoms that can vary from mild to severe. Thus, the importance of Systematization of Nursing Care is highlighted, as it provides evidence-based care, and consequently an improvement in the quality of care provided to these patients. The aim of this study is to develop a terminological subset of the International Classification for Nursing Practice for the care of people with Covid-19 in the context of Primary Health Care, in the light of Wanda de Aguiar Horta's theory of Basic Human Needs. This is a methodological study, which will be developed in four stages, namely: 1) identification of relevant terms for the care of people with Covid-19 in the context of Primary Health Care; 2) cross-mapping of terms identified with the International Classification for Nursing Practice; 3) construction of statements of nursing diagnoses, outcomes and interventions; and 4) structuring the terminological subset of the International Classification for Nursing Practice based on Wanda de Aguiar Horta's theory. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, with a substantiated opinion of No. 4,099,646, under Presentation Certificate for Ethical Appreciation No. 33494920.8.0000.5537. It is expected that the results obtained promote an improvement in the clinical practice of nurses for people with Covid-19, and consequently ensure quality care, especially in the context of Primary Health Care, as it is in this scenario that most cases are solved.
