VALIDATION OF ADHERE - QUESTIONNAIRE ON BARRIERS AND FACILITATORS FOR ADHERENCE TO PREVENTION AND CONTROL MEASURES OF TRANSMISSIBLE RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS.
Introduction: Transmissible respiratory infections every year generate important costs for public health and are also responsible for high rates of morbidity and mortality. To combat these infections, there are behavioral variations between different cultures and populations, which is an important determinant in combating the prevention and control of these diseases. Different instruments have been adapted or developed to assess adherence to health recommendations around the world and, although they exist, they are not available or adapted for the Brazilian population. The ADHERE is a questionnaire that seeks to identify barriers and facilitators for adherence to prevention and control measures for communicable respiratory diseases in the Brazilian population over 18 years of age. Objective: To evaluate the properties of measurements related to the validity and reliability evidence of the ADHERE questionnaire. Methods: To meet the objective of the study, it was planned to carry out construct (structural validity and hypothesis testing - convergent) and criterion (competing) validity, in addition, to also evaluate the reliability of the instrument. For structural validity, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis of the instrument was carried out, which can reduce the items and confirm the model. Partial results: 654 Brazilians participated in this study, representatives of the five Brazilian geopolitical regions. Through factor analysis, the ADHERE questionnaire in its final version obtained 10 items. The instrument's items evaluate aspects that can directly influence adherence. The 654 participants were randomly divided into two halves to perform the EFA and CFA. Both presented adequate matrix factorability (KMO of 0.75 for EFA and 0.77 for CFA). In both analyses, both in EFA and CFA, Bartlett's sphericity test showed statistical significance, respectively (X² = 2,751.71; p < 0.001) and (X² = 66.88; p < 0.001). Therefore, the total score of the ADHERE questionnaire can vary from 10 to 50 points and the higher the score obtained, the more favorable the condition of the population assessed to adhere to the prevention and control measures for COVID-19 and other transmissible respiratory infections.
