RESUMO:

The sequelae resulting from CVA indicate the importance of promoting interventions that favor the functional recovery of these patients. This study aimed to evaluate motor learning after virtual reality game therapy in stroke patients. Twelve patients participated, being 6 from the experimental group (EG) and 6 from the control group (CG). Participants underwent an electroencephalographic assessment using the virtual dart game (XBOX Kinect) and a kinematic assessment of water-drinking activity. An analysis of game performance was recorded using absolute, constant and variable error measures. The patients were randomized into two groups: EG and CG, who underwent conventional physiotherapy, a 12-day therapy protocol, 3 times a week for 4 weeks. In addition to conventional physical therapy, the EG performed 45 repetitions of the virtual dart game per session. After 24 hours of the last training day, participants were reevaluated. The results are expected to show greater benefit in the motor learning process in patients treated with virtual gaming.
