IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DOMAIN PARTICIPATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATION OF FUNCTIONALITY, DISABILITY AND HEALTH IN THE CLINICAL PRACTICE OF SPECIALIZED PHYSIOTHERAPISTS IN CHILDREN'S HEALTH: an approach based on the Translation of Knowledge

RESUMO:

Introduction: The Translation of Knowledge (TC) was created with the purpose of disseminating scientific knowledge, putting research evidence into practice, training professionals involved, and improving the quality of life and health condition of the health service user. This tool of knowledge transmission is fast becoming a priority among researchers, but Brazil still presents strong resistance to the emergence of new technologies that improve the health condition and quality of life of patients. Knowing the importance of implementing evidence-based therapies in the Brazilian clinical environment, there is a need to identify their levels of propensity to change in physiotherapists to design an intervention strategy through KT to facilitate health knowledge, and improve the care of children With motor disabilities. Rationale: The implementation of knowledge based on scientific evidence will provide the identification of the level of propensity to change of health professionals in Brazil, and will promote modification in the therapeutic dynamics of professionals and better care to families and children with motor disabilities. Methodology: The design of the study combines elements of a pragmatic assay and mixed-methods model. The study will be carried out reference services in child health in the municipality of Natal in Rio Grande do Norte. The collections will take place from January 2018 to November 2018. Participants will be physiotherapists with experience in child health and the families cared for by these professionals. Physiotherapists with experience in children and adolescents with disabilities will be recruited in rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics and clinics in the cities of Natal, and Santa Cruz, RN, Brazil. Among the inclusion criteria of the professionals are: working with children with motor deficiency, proven training in physiotherapy, understanding the proposal of the study and accepting to make the modifications proposed during the training. Among the exclusion criteria of the professionals are: withdrawal of the study after the beginning of the study, or lack of two consecutive meetings. This paper will be submitted to the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). On the instruments of evaluation there will be protocols for research evaluating the perception of parents and professionals and implementation of KT. The professionals will respond to a sociodemographic questionnaire, a semi-structured interview guide, and the Measuring Practice Capacity for Change tool to assess the level of propensity for change. Parents will respond to the Participation and Context Measure - Children and Youth questionnaire to identify the child participation profile, and the children will respond to The Canadian Occupational Performance Measure for individual analysis of each child's difficulty in participating. After that the professionals participated in a training of the domain CIF participation that will last six weeks, after this period the professionals will be stimulated to put into practice the knowledge acquired and will have 3 months to implement the domain participation in the health service. Finally, a reappraisal of the level of propensity to change, and children's participation profile will be performed for further analysis. For statistical analysis of the data will be used quantitative and qualitative analysis. Results: Among the possible results to be obtained are the characterization of the propensity profile to change the physiotherapist professionals of Brazil and comparison with developed countries, the change in the therapeutic look of these professionals, the implementation of the domain participation of the CIF and the improvement of the attendance and Consequently quality of life, functionality and leisure of these children.
