RESUMO:

Background: Despite strong recommendations from national and international guidelines on cardiovascular rehabilitation programs, data about the availability, use and possible barriers to access and adherence to these programs are still incipient in the Brazilian scenario. Aims: To analyze, describe and compare the barriers to access and adherence of patients to cardiovascular rehabilitation programs in the public and private health sectors. Methods: It is a cross-sectional, observational-analytical study with a descriptive and quantitative approach that will be carried out in cardiology reference hospitals and cardiovascular rehabilitation programs, aiming to investigate barriers to access and adherence to these programs, as well as the influence of biopsychosocial determinants. To investigate barriers, the Cardiac Rehabilitation Barrier Scale (CRBS) will be used and to evaluate the subjective functional capacity, the level of cardiac anxiety and the socioeconomic profile, will be used the Duke Activity Status Index (DASI), the Cardiac Anxiety Questionnaire and a socio-demographic and economic form, respectively. Expected results: At the end of this analysis it is hoped to identify the barriers for non-participation and non-continuity in cardiovascular rehabilitation programs and their degree of association with biopsychosocial determinants, supporting the creation of strategies directed and potentially capable of improving the efficiency of cardiovascular rehabilitation programs in the public and private health sectors.
