RESUMO:

Pilates (MP) method consists in a systematic set of exercises that can be performed on the ground or on specific devices. The literature shows its effects on fitness and rehabilitation, however, is still unknown the relationship of activation of the abdominal muscles (MA) and the pelvic floor muscles (MAP) during the execution of movements. The objective of the research was to analyze, through electromyography (EMG), the ratio of the MA activation level and MAP during Teaser exercises and Shoulder Bridge in Cadillac device in women who practice MP. Clinical research was characterized as analytical, observational and cross. The sample was non-probabilistic and intentional. Twenty-eight women, aged between 45 and 64 years, with an average of 4 years of Pilates practice, often 2 times a week, participated in the survey. Functional evaluation of MAP, the volunteers were subjected to bi-digital palpation (CP) based on the PERFECT scale and by perineometry (Peritron®). For evaluation of climacteric and menopausal symptoms, Menopause Scale Rating Scale (RMS), respectively. The capture of electromyographic signals was performed by electromyography apparatus of Miotool® brand, which was used during the exercises, transvaginal probe (Miotool®) for MAP and surface electrodes (Ag / Al) for MA. Statistical analysis of the preliminary data was performed using SPSS (version 20.0), using mean and standard deviation for functional MAP assessment and the MA activation level, and the correlation of electromyographic data held by the Spearman correlation, and for analysis of climate sintomatolgia it was used in central and dispersion measures.
