SUMMARY:

The two most popular interpretations of dark matter are elementary particles and primordial black holes. In light of the recent detection of gravitational waves and approved funding for the construction of the next generation of detectors, primordial black holes are part of an intensive international research program. Having said that, our goal is to precisely explore the interplay between primordial black holes, dark matter particles, and gravitational waves. Given the interdisciplinary endeavor at play, we will put our findings into perspective with the ongoing search for dark matter at underground laboratories and telescopes. Recent developments in the area of primordial black holes gave rise to new production mechanisms of dark matter particles. One of them is superradiance, which is some sort of dark Hawking radiation. Interestingly, primordial black holes that do not account for the total dark matter abundance can play a significant role in the abundance of dark matter particles. As such primordial black holes are subject to gravitational wave detection in the mHZ frequency, one can unveil the production mechanism of dark matter particles using gravitational wave signals.
