SUMMARY:

The current lifestyle, known as Sociedade 24/7, is incompatible with the quality of life and with the maintenance of the patterns of the sleep-wake cycle (CSV), with the increasing effect of sleep deprivation and consequences such as deficit in general, cognitive and psychic health. The teaching work context, characterized by excessive workload and high work demands, can also contribute to changes in the CSV, causing a decrease in the quality of sleep, physical and mental health of teachers. This project aims to characterize the relationship between the time pattern of the sleep-wake cycle of teachers in public basic education and factors such as Psychological Attachment to Work (APT), the conditions of the work context and the teachers' anxiety levels. Participants will be teachers from state basic education institutions, who teach a minimum of one subject and shift, in elementary school classes - final years, high school or both. Data collection will be performed with the application of instruments in a single step: Questionnaire “A Saúde e Sono”; Munich Chronotype Questionnaire (MCTQ); Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (IQSP); Working Conditions Questionnaire (QCT); Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESE) and Beck Anxiety Inventory (IAB). The expected results are to obtain the relationship between the sleep quality indexes, the temporal pattern of the sleep-wake cycle and daytime sleepiness with the teaching work context, including working conditions, psychological attachment to work and the teachers' anxiety levels.
