RESUMO:

Human food behavior is quite complex and does not depend only on rational processes, it can also involve biological and environmental factors. Given this, often a decision of food choice involves a certain reluctance to try new flavors, a behavior that is called food neophobia. The study with twins has been widely used in different research areas related to human genetics in order to observe factors related to the genotypic and environmental variety. In this sense, the objective of the present study is to evaluate food neophobia in adult twins and to identify the influence of factors that may be related to the expression of neophobic food behavior. A cross - sectional descriptive study will be carried out to evaluate feeding behavior in adult twins of both sexes living in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. The data will be collected in the Laboratory of Biodynamics of the Physical Education Department of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. In the study will be collected sociodemographic, clinical, anthropometric data and determination of zygosity, in addition to the application of the Food Neophobia Scale and the TAI implicit association test.
