RESUMO:

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are widely used without treatment for depression and anxiety at various stages of an individual's life, including during pregnancy or lactation. In this circumstance, with the fetus in utero or in breastfeeding, it will be exposed to the influence of serotonergic hyperstimulation capable of disorganizing the morphofunctional development of the CNS. A modulation of the serotonergic circuit in the developing brain can change an organization and formation of different specific neural networks and repercussion in the behavioral indication of the individual. There is scant information about the effects of serotonergic hyperexposure induced by perinatal SSRI treatment on an expression of peptidergic markers and their role in behavioral, cognitive, emotional and rhythmic behavior in the exposed individuals. In this point of view, we will use SSRIs (dose: 20mg / kg) in the GD13-GD21 development period in rats (Rattus norvegicus) to investigate the expression of neuropeptidergic and serotonergic markers in brain areas related to cognitive alterations, emotional and circadian rhythmicity in the offspring of males and females at 90 days of age. In addition to the monitoring of the estrous cycle, the performance in the tasks of: open field, discriminative avoidance, preference for sucrose that evaluate anxiety-depression and memory, as well as to investigate by means of immunohistochemistry in zeitgebers 12 and 18, possible neurochemical alterations through neuropeptide Y (NPY) and serotonin (5-HT) expression, considered important modulatory proteins associated with mnemonic, anxious, depressive and circadian rhythmicity behaviors in rodents.
