RESUMO:

Estradiol and estriol Bioidentical hormones are low-dose drugs used in the treatment for relief of symptoms caused by menopause, being considered more safe and effective for presenting chemical structure similar to synthesized in the human body. This study proposed applying the techniques in thermal characterization of Bioidentical hormones, evaluate possible interactions between the drug and the excipients commonly used in solid dosage forms, as well as to develop and validate a methodology for quantifying of Bioidentical hormones present in capsules. The data curves TG/DTG, DTA and DSC of Bioidentical hormones demontraram thermal profile similar to that described in the literature, where from calorimetric data of estradiol bioidêntico it was possible to show the presence of two polymorphic forms interconversiveis when subjected to heating cycles. Compatibility study conducted by DSC between the hormone estriol bioidêntico and the excipients showed the existence of interaction between the drug and the sodium lauryl sulfate in proportion to 1:1 going on disappearance of melting point characteristic of the drug. The selectivity of the analytical method for the determination of the hormone estradiol bioidêntico by DTA was evaluated according to the current legislation, demonstrating good selectivity for seven of the ten proposed excipients. Termoanalíticas techniques show promising tools in the study of characterization of polymorphic forms, evaluation of drug compatibility/excipients and quantification of pharmaceuticals from solid pharmaceutical forms.
