SUMMARY:

The objective of this dissertation is to analyze, from a Feminist, Marxist, and Feminist Marxist perspective - methodologically grounded in historical materialism - gender, the conditions surrounding it's emergence and historical transformations, particularly in regards to its central characteristics in contemporary times (which is here believed to be structured/determined in conjunction with capitalism) and, ultimately, to discuss the premises for its resolution (i.e., ways to end gender hierarchization). Thus, the aim is to conduct a feminist reflection that does not shy away from addressing the end of all forms of oppression and exploitation. The investigation begins with an analysis of theoretical perspectives on the origins of gender, including the anthropological discussion of the gendered division of humanity and the conjunctural elements of its historical development (including colonialism, the capitalist mode of production, and transformations in the family). Next, a debate is conducted within Marxist Feminism to establish the central elements of gender based on the Theory of Social Reproduction, as well as the critical aspects articulated in the concepts of Gender and Patriarchy. Finally, some theoretical approaches to the end of gender oppression, including the end of gender itself in its most basic symbolic dimension, are analyzed, focusing on the relationship between this project, of a feminist horizon, and the communist revolutionary project. Overall, the objective of this study is to contribute to understanding gender oppression and encourage critical reflections on the relationship between gender and class in capitalist societies.
