SUMMARY:

Freedom is a fundamental theme not only in the History of Philosophy, but also in
Christian Thought. In the same way that this theme went through the entire history of thought,
so it was in the Christian Tradition, having its main systematization with Saint Augustine.
From this assumption, this thesis seeks to reflect on the influence that the notion of freedom
developed
by Saint Augustine inspired the thinking of Martin Luther and John Calvin on the same
theme, in the 16th century.
