SUMMARY:

This doctoral thesis aims to address the issue of space theorized by the French philosopher Gaston Bachelard (1884-1962) and its circularity relationship between the concepts of meta-ontology and geopoetics. This work is an unprecedented research in that it recovers the genealogy of the concept of meta-ontology in the writings of Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) and applies it in the context of Bachelardian philosophy. The present text aims to analyze these passages mainly from the works The experience of space in Contemporary Physics and The Poetics of Space, however, we go beyond these works and cross the entire work of Bachelard, including his articles and reviews, some still unpublished in Portuguese.  In this way of going beyond the philosopher's work, we find the concept of geopoetic mainly in the reception of one of the heirs of Bachelard's thought, Wunenburger, and we realize that it is perfectly aligned with the perspective we have adopted; The fact that science is the aesthetics of intelligence makes room for a Bachelardian interpretation that it is possible to use aesthetics as the basis of an understanding of science, that is, the aesthetics of intelligence is to throw the reader into the taste for science. In this way, we will find approximations and ruptures between the works of Heidegger and Bachelard, taking as main example the question of technique. Another meeting point is the fact that both philosophers had contact with the sculptures of Eduardo Chillida. Aiming to highlight the materiality of concrete space, the earth element is worked during much of this thesis to demonstrate the path of overcoming the matter-form dichotomy, where the spatiality of the surfaces lead us to the metaphysical depth of the roots fed by the being of the earth. The conclusion is intended to show how space, as a meta-ontological construction (and not conceived as a priori) inaugurates a different form of thought, which goes beyond an ontheological metaphysics, constituting an ontological metatechnique that relates language - image - concept of both poetic and epistemological form. And in this there is an implicit critique of analytic philosophies, so that they do not reappropriate ontology's own concepts, but that meta-ontology builds a language that creates a new being of space, science, and elements.
