RESUMO:

Our paper aims to address the issue of domination, which was very dear in high modernity and late modernity and, it seems, relevance to a bigger and bether understanding about Western civilization from barbarism in barbarism as a destiny paving his road to decline. Our dissertation discuses about the Max Horkheimer (1898-1973) duble domination hypothesis. This research toke a path that tried do understand how our author did understand nature and man’s domination. We tried, in that paper, not only expose what is meant by duble domination, however, above all, expose how that bifurcated domination happened. To be clear, we try to follow a path that suggests us there has been an evolution in duplicated domination, this, made, our work is to show is what way was this evolution and how to identify it in the our author works over the 30s and 40s twentieth century, taking into account the historical, social, political, economic and psychological changes – climate in the thirties, we had started out by politics, in the forties we have an external nature domination that keeps on controlled by positivist science and an inner nature domination, which concerns the formation of the individual ego in civilization.
