SUMMARY:
This research has as object of study: the participation of the students and its implications in the political and pedagogical management of the Escola Estadual de Tempo Integral Rosa Pignataro (EETIRP), a public full-time school. We aim to analyze the forms and spaces of participation of students in the management of this school in the 2019 year, guided by the following question: How does student participation in the political and pedagogical management of EETIRP occur? From this question, we build data and information working with the following sources: interview with students and management team; questionnaires with students; ICE material; material produced by the EETIRP management team, and observation of the school environment. We orient our point of view about the object of research and the sources across an approach that we call Sertania. This approach is characterized by inviting the researcher to observe the sources, extract data and information and, articulating them, to produce knowledge about aspects of the research object. In addition to the sources, we take as a theoretical basis the studies of PATERNAM (1992), ANDERSON (2008), SILVA, (1988), GOHN (2011), ROUSSEAU (2011) and FREIRE (1967). This whole process of seeking to understand our object of study, allowed us to understand that, even though EETIRP is an unfolding of the neoliberal relations present in the current Brazilian society, and having this school left in the background its regulatory frameworks, such as the PPP and the RULES INTERNAL, we can infer that in this teaching unit the spaces created for students to participate were occupied by them so that they started to be effectively involved in the school managements political and pedagogical changes.
