RESUMO:
This is a preliminary version of the dissertation about the production of urban space in the Planalto - Natal / RN - Brazil neighborhood, in order to analyze the performance of the incorporating capital in the production of this space. At the moment, we are trying to present our work proposal with its object and elements that constitute the research, the first chapter considering its theoretical-conceptual, empirical and temporal dimension and the summary containing the list of subjects that we will discuss in the Following chapters. Our study starts from the assumptions of authors such as Henri Lefebvre, David Harvey, Milton Santos, Ana Fani and Mendonça e Costa from the reading from which we extract that today there is a production of a space based in the economic city to the detriment of the social city, in which speculation Real estate development contributes to the creation of social sites that selectively transform places using the forms in this process as ideal tools by which space can be exploited in different ways, which has led to a socio-spatial differentiation segregating physical and symbolic dimensions. In these terms, we assume that the performance of real estate development in the Planalto neighborhood has contributed significantly to the production of a new local urban space. For the moment, we try to describe how this picture has been delineated in this neighborhood from empirical phenomena observed in it and brought to light for the theoretical and conceptual analysis addressed here.
