PROTOTYPE OF A DRILLING DEVICE TO BE BOARDED IN A SEMIAUTONOMOUS VEHICLE FOR REMOTE SENSING

This work presents the design of a semi-autonomous probe for environmental exploration, designed to collect

 and transmit data on soil variables. The project was designed considering a vehicle capable of moving

 semi-autonomously in areas with potential for desertification — such as the Brazilian Semi-Arid Region. 

The vehicle will operate as a Data Collection Platform, willing to work with the Brazilian Environmental Data

 Collection System, transmitting data via satellite and receiving data in a mission control center. The region

 to be monitored will be previously identified by satellite images, in which its georeferential coordinates will 

assist in locating the vehicle and mapping the local area; and the results of mapping and soil monitoring carried

 out by the vehicle will help characterize environments through data intercomparison. Among other features of

 the vehicle, the development of a drilling device (electric drill) stands out, to facilitate the penetration of sensors

 into the earth and measurement of soil parameters (soil moisture and salinity). Based on explorations using the

 vehicle, the possibility of supporting soil recovery and management projects is considered, enabling the

 sustainable use of land.
